The D634‑501A is part of the D634 family of directly‑operated (direct‑drive) analog servo valves manufactured by MOOG. These valves are designed for hydraulic systems requiring precise control of flow and direction under high pressure. The spool is driven by a linear‑force motor (permanent magnet), eliminating the need for a pilot flow and providing a pressure‑independent dynamic performance. The spool is spring‑centered and will return to neutral (stop actuator) if power supply is lost — a safety/fail‑safe feature.
